I believe parents and caregivers play an important role in the lives of those with disabilities. Outside of the disability itself, I think they have the opportunity to remind those they are around with disabilities that they are human. They can bring normalcy to what feels like an unpredictable and uncomfortable situation or even normalcy to a typical day. Both parents and caregivers can remind us that we are so much more than the situations we face. We are human, we laugh, we cry, we're loved we're hated, we have interests and hobbies. Parents and caregivers who help us with matters related to disability and see us as the people we are, are valuable and important. I think in general society should take notes from them.
